What's wrong with my thumb/hand?
Exactly a week ago I was at soccer practice and my friend kicked the ball as hard as she could and it hit my thumb. I'm a goal keeper but I wasn't wearing my gloves so it really hurt. Any ways it swelled up a lot within the next 24 hours and then I think a blood vessel popped cause there is a red spot on my palm (sorta bottom of thumb) about the size of a Pennie. This is also were the swelling is. Since last week the swelling has gone down but it is still swollen, and I can't bend my thumb without pain running down my thumb into my palm. Also i thought it was feeling a bit better and I was at practice in net, and when I caught any ball that hit the bottom of my palm it was really painful. It also really hurts to squeeze the bottom joint of my thumb or to run my finger down the back side of my thumb.
What do you think is wrong with my hand/thumb?
That happened to me. Its probably broken. When i broke my finger I couldnt move it and I experienced the same symptoms you descried. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible. It can be dangerous if you dont get it checked out soon. I guarentee you thats what it is. Best of Luck!:)
