Bundesliga predictions game week 27

Borussia Mönchengladbach Vs Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Watch on fuboTV, Fox Deportes, FS2 Sat, May 23rd 9:30am

Sitting in third place of the Bundesliga, six points behind Bayern are Borussia M’Gladbach. On their heels, two points adrift, are their opponents Leverkusen. Both teams won their return to action matches comfortably taking all three points. In what is considered a six pointer, there can only be one winner as neither team will look to share the points. This match has a lot riding on it with both teams looking to qualify for the Champions league, and a tasty match it should be. Goals should be plentiful since M’Gladbach and Leverkusen scored seven goals between them last week. We think the same will happen again. Ok, maybe the opposition was weaker, but The Gaffer has no doubts this match will be end to end.

Prediction- Borussia M’Gladbach 4-3 Bayern Leverkusen

In what should be a thrilling morning of entertainment with both teams evenly matched, Borussia M’Gladbach will edge out a win in this slug-fest. The Gaffer can’t wait to wake up for this one.

“Put the kettle on early, fry your eggs and bacon, sit back and enjoy. If it doesn’t pan out with the score line, well… we’re sorry in advance.”

VfL Wolfsburg Vs Borussia Dortmund

Watch on fuboTV, Sling TV, FS1, TUDN en Vivo Sat, May 23rd 9:30am

We can’t bet against an away win for Dortmund in this match up. Dortmund looked crisp, clean, and ready to play last week with the usual suspects showing up. Of course, anything can happen as the teams adjust to the new way of playing. But, with Haaland still banging in the goals, Guerreiro playing like it was going to be his last match, and Hazard being a menace, Wolfsburg will not be able to hang.

Last minute winner

Last week, Ginczek spared Wolfsburgs blushes by scoring an injury time winner in the 91st minute, with the team only registering four shots on frame out of 16 attempts. With this in mind, Wolfsburg will not be afforded the same amount of chances against Dortmund. Each opportunity will have to be taken with precision when they come along, but we look for Wolfsburg to have a long afternoon. It will be another day at the office for Dortmund. In fact, we don’t even see them breaking a sweat as they will most certainly bag all three points keeping the pressure on Bundesliga leaders Bayern.

Prediction- VfL Wolfsburg 0-4 Borussia Dortmund

We think this is going to be an action packed match making the mornings matches hard to choose from. Another goal fest should be on the cards for Dortmund.

“Ok, this week Haaland will get a Hat-trick”

Bayern Munich Vs Frankfurt

Watch on FS1, fuboTV, Sling TV, FOX Deportes Sat, May 23rd 12:30pm

Posting their 15th win in 16 games in all competitions, Bayern shrugged off last weeks challengers Union Berlin. Despite picking up all three points and 68% possession, the win didn’t seem all that convincing. Even though they got the job done, Bayern seemed lackluster, needing a penalty kick from Lewandowski to get them going. At the other end, Bayern’s defense gave Union Berlin a few sniffs at goal, which would have been punished by a better side.

Lucky Bayern?

Luckily for Bayern they play at home in a match that under normal circumstances they should win. Frankfurt were beaten convincingly by Broussia M’Gladbach last week extending their poor stretch of form to four defeats in a row. Provided that Bayern can remain focused, they should come away with all three points. Adjusting to playing at home in an empty stadium is a concern for Bayern manager Hansi Flick. He wants his players to find the extra motivation that is usually provided by the fans. Bayern will have to be mentally strong, as playing behind closed doors presents it’s own challenges. It is weird watching the matches on TV with no fans, imagine what that must be like for the players who are used to entertaining a stadium full of passionate spectators. Despite the change in atmosphere, Bayern should find what is needed.

Prediction- Bayern Munich 3-1 Frankfurt

Even with an empty stadium, Bayern should push through and start playing with more confidence and conviction, keeping their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

“The gulf in class, and home pitch advantage will see Bayern across the line. Manu Neuer’s contract extension will also be a much needed boost.”

Mainz 05 Vs RB Leipzig

Watch on fuboTV, Sling TV, FS1, FOX deportes Sun, May 24th 9:30am

Last week didn’t go according to plan for RB Leipzig, with Freiburg holding on to share the points after taking a surprising lead. Timo Werner failed to get on the score sheet with Freiburg keeper Schwolow pulling off six saves. Leipzig are going to have to be at their best if they don’t want to lose anymore ground. However, Mainz are not going to go down without a fight, especially playing at home. Mainz will be boosted by their incredible second half comeback last week after going two goals down to FC Koln. A win would pull them further away from the threat of relegation, so anything can happen in this match. If Werner fails to find his scoring boots, we may possibly have an upset, which would be disastrous for RB Leipzig’s Champions League qualification hopes. They have dropped points in their last three outings.

Prediction- Mainz 05 1-1 RB Leipzig

The Gaffer just doesn’t think this one is going to be as straight forward as it should be. Mainz showed great resilience and spirit last week, which could just be the difference in condemming RB Leipzig to a fourth draw in a row, and another two points lost.

“It’s Timo’s time to prove us wrong and see if he can score a couple of bangers to keep Leipzig in the hunt. We like the underdogs in this one though.”
